OUR MISSION STATEMENT:

Wolfe Mountain Farms is an all natural, pasture based producer of pork, turkey, chicken and Boer goats.  Our Goal is:

We are a member of the American Livestock Breeds Conservancy.

QUALITY MEATS

We raise delicious wholesome meats for folks right here at home.  We settle for nothing less than the best when it comes to feeding our family and we have so much fun raising it, we decided to share our bounty with our neighbors.  Give us a try, and I think you will enjoy this home raised all natural meat as much as we do.

At Tiny Texas Ranch, a division of Wolfe Mountain Farms, we believe exceptional quality meat is a three step process:

Are there any health benefits to raising meat this way?

Studies have shown that meat raised on grass is higher in omega-3 oils, rich in vitamins and minerals, and contains less fat and cholesterol.  Our products are guaranteed to be free of chemicals or drugs.  You may try our meat for the health benefits but you'll come back for the taste!

OK, But How Does It Work?

It's as simple as sending an email and we will put you on our list for the next available hog.  Quantities are limited so its important to get on our customer list early.  We will notify you when your meat is ready to be taken to the processor and we will deliver the animal there for you.  We process our own chickens and turkeys right here on the farm but take the hogs to a local processors that will package your meats the way you want it, and in the size packages you want.  All you do is stop by the processor, load up your trunk with boxes of meat and take it home to put it in your freezer.  When your freezer begins to get low, just give us another call and we will take care of you.

Where is Wolfe Mountain?

Wolfe Mountain Farms was located high atop the Ozark Mountains of Missouri, in Western Douglas County an hour's drive from Springfield or Branson.  Ken and his family built it from scratch and lived and worked many years in the hills of MO until Ken became disabled.  He could not give up his passion though so he moved his beloved animals and all the farm equipment to the southern tip of Texas in a very fertile area known as the Rio Grande Valley.  Here, the subtropical climate is more suitable to his bone disease and his family has taken over the manual labor so Ken can focus on what he does best, love the animals.  Our new farm is affectionately known as the Tiny Texas Ranch.  It is a diversified, self sustainable small grass farm managed using organic methods and endangered heritage animals.  We are owned and operated by the Wolfe family, Ken, Kay,  Josh and Crystal.  We hope this site inspires you to reach back to the days of your grandparents and learn how to be a little more self sufficient, or at least eat some great food like your great grandparents may have eaten.

How it all began!

We were both raised on small farms but like many young couples, moved away for that perfect job.  We remembered Mom's thick chicken and dumplings made from our back yard hen or grandpas sizzling bacon from his old smoke house.  After years of city living, we returned to our roots to fulfill our dream of raising meat the old fashion way to get that home grown flavor.   We assumed maybe you like tender flavorful meat too so Wolfe Mountain Farms was born.  If you have never tasted home grown meat then boy are you in for a treat!

How We Raise Our Animals:

We chose this lifestyle first because we love animals and second because we prefer to know where our food comes from.  I hope our love is evident in the care we provide our animals as shown in the pictures of this web site.  We go to great pains to produce a healthy animal that lives a productive life while enjoying wide open spaces, fresh air, and social interaction with the herd.  We use a variety of natural products and practices in place of harsh chemicals to achieve optimal health.

Our main source of feed for our animals is grass so it all begins with the soil.  We let the animals naturally fertilize the ground and we supplement it with crushed limestone.  They are confined no more than is absolutely necessary.  We believe you must work with nature, not against it.  That's why we raise a variety of animals.  Nature has no monocultures and neither should farms.

When our animals do need supplemental feed in the form of grains, we purchase whole grains locally that are free of all added chemicals.  We welcome our customers to analyze our feed labels as we take pride in the quality nutrition and safe feed we provide our animals.

Our animals are not just our livelihood.  They are our passion, our joy, our pride, and our calling.  We are with them when they come into this world and are there with them every day as they grow and explore Wolfe Mountain.  We know each animal individually and work to provide them the healthiest environment possible.  You can be assured that these animals are raised humanely and are given a full and active life.
